Officer Rick Gramer is Irvine Police Department’s Threat Mitigation Officer. His responsibilities include providing physical security assessments and offering violent intruder response training to members of local schools, businesses, and houses of worship. Officer Gramer has worked several assignments over his 11-year career including School Resource Officer, Crisis Negotiator for the Irvine SWAT team, and is one of IPD’s Terrorist Liaison Officers. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Cal State Fullerton, is a certified ALICE Active Shooter Response Trainer, and is an Adjunct Professor in the Criminal Justice Program at Hope International University.
